Stoneworx

Silver Member

Stoneworx is a Mendix development partner delivering custom Product Information Management solutions and related business applications on the Mendix low-code platform. Rather than offering a packaged PIM product, Stoneworx builds tailored PIM environments for organizations whose product data requirements - GS1 compliance, warehouse logistics, dynamic pricing, marketplace connections - fall outside what off-the-shelf PIM software covers out of the box. Backed by a team of Mendix Expert-certified developers and a Mendix MVP, the company operates from the Netherlands and Portugal and has delivered fully functional PIM implementations in as little as six months. Stoneworx primarily serves SME+ to enterprise organizations in wholesale, distribution, and manufacturing that manage complex or non-standard product data flows - particularly companies working with GS1 data standards, multi-channel order processing, or warehouse and logistics constraints that generic PIM tools do not address natively. It is best suited to organizations that have evaluated standard PIM software and found the fit incomplete for their specific operational requirements.

Value Proposition

Stoneworx's value lies in combining PIM functionality with adjacent operational tooling - order planning, supply chain portals, pricing calculation, and pallet-stacking optimization - inside a single Mendix-based platform built around the client's actual workflow rather than a vendor's predefined data model. The low-code foundation allows for faster delivery than traditional custom development, while built-in GS1 integration experience reduces the compliance overhead that often accompanies wholesale and distribution product data. Ongoing support comes from a dedicated, certified Mendix team rather than a single developer.

For Whom?

Stoneworx is particularly relevant for wholesalers, distributors, and manufacturers that need PIM capability tied directly into GS1 compliance, order and supply chain processes, or pricing and logistics calculations - and for whom a standalone, generic PIM product would require significant custom integration work regardless of vendor choice. It is a fit for organizations prioritizing a single tailored platform over a best-of-breed stack of separate PIM, order management, and logistics tools. Active in the Netherlands & Portugal

Customer case

Customer Case: Stoneworx - Order Planning Tool for Dijk Natural Collections

Customer Case: Stoneworx

Dijk Natural Collections is a Dutch wholesaler of natural decoration materials, sourcing products from Asia, South America, and Europe and supplying garden centers, DIY retailers, and wholesalers across Europe. As the company scaled, its ERP system struggled to link purchases to the correct sales orders, and shipments arriving in partial batches across different dates made delivery timing hard to track.

Dijk needed a single, transparent view of incoming orders that could be linked directly to customer orders, so that stock status and delivery timing were visible to the whole organization - not just the warehouse team that historically held that knowledge. The new system had to both read and write data back into the company’s processes, and needed to serve as a durable foundation for the company’s entire supply chain going forward.

    Action by Stoneworx

Stoneworx built a custom order planning tool on the Mendix low-code platform, giving Dijk one consolidated view of incoming orders and their delivery timing. The application was designed to connect purchase data to individual customer orders in real time and to be accessible company-wide, including field sales staff who previously had no visibility into stock status.

  • Dijk reduced partial deliveries by 20% and improved planning and transport efficiency as a result. Real-time visibility into restocking timing let the sales team sell ahead of inventory arrival instead of turning down orders, and more accurate delivery information significantly increased customer satisfaction. CFO Jack Zwager projected a 10–15% revenue increase in the near term following the tool’s rollout.

Key Capabilities

  • Product modeling: Packaging hierarchy (EA/inner/outer/pallet), CBM, pallet counts, landed-cost fields; not engineering BOM/configurator PIM (TradePIM demo UI)
  • Validation / completeness / channel readiness: In-context GS1 validation, field-level completeness, channel readiness flags (TradePIM)
  • GS1 / GDSN: Validation + publish to datapool in-product; BrickWise as same GS1 layer (TradePIM, NEDPT), confirm datapool/country scope in RFP
  • Workflow / approvals: Publication status per channel; “contentreview”; “gereed voor controle” states (TradePIM)
  • Audit / versioning: “Aangemaakt door / laatste wijziging” in demo; no full audit trail spec
  • Localization / translation workflow: Templates per taal / kanaal / doelgroep; no TMS integration evidenced
